Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

The Lord will empower us with the blessing so that we can be A BLESSING to those around us. You may ask? I really don’t feel like a blessing! Let me ask you a simple question? Are you a born again child of God? If your answer is yes then read the verse below.

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

If we are in Christ then the blessing has already come upon us and is ready to be dispersed to those around us. Here are some simple yet powerful ways to release the blessing to those around us.

  1. Realize that you are already blessed if you are in Christ Jesus.
  2. Take the time to encourage one person every day. You could call someone, send them an email, text message, card, or personally talk with them. Remember, everyone needs encouragement at some point. These seeds of encouragement will always come back to you because of the principles of sowing and reaping. (Galatians 6:8-9)
  3. Do something for someone that would totally surprise them. Years ago I was mowing my lawn which took at least two hours. When I was almost finished the Lord put it on my heart to go next door and mow the neighbors grass. This totally shocked them that I would do this and consequently the doorway for the gospel was now wide open for them.
  4. Go out of the way to be kind to people at the market places. Courtesy is one on the things that has seemed to fall between the cracks these days but it does not have to.
  5. Show favor to people that need a break in life. There are some people that have had such a hard time with life because of their upbringing and not having the right influence as they grew up.
  6. One of the greatest ways to be a blessing is to pray for people. There is no distance in the Spirit realm and your prayers can go places that you physically cannot go, especially in other countries.

Many people have a desire to be a blessing but if we follow these few examples they can take us out of the ordinary into the extraordinary.
